Female Founders Breaking Boundaries

Company Culture & The Newsletter Myth

Casey Gromer Episode 101

Company culture is not built overnight. It is ingrained into every aspect of your business making sure that everyone on your team is working towards the same goals, feeling satisfied and fulfilled in their roles, and having consistent expectations when they show up to work. And if your company is missing the mark on company culture, it can lead to some very costly employee turnover. This week’s episode 101 of Female Founders Breaking Boundaries is about your company culture and debunking the newsletter myth.

Have you ever felt like you were WAY too busy, stressed out, burnt out, and overwhelmed, so you were advised to delegate some tasks to take things off your plate and free up some time? Except, maybe it didn't work. If getting out of the day-to-day in your business was as simple as hiring more people, then why are you still feeling overwhelmed and burned out? You are not alone! Sometimes, simply delegating tasks doesn’t work and instead shifts your workload from “doing” to “managing.”

I invite you to use the exercise that our own C-Suite clients use to take the first step in turning your team into a well-oiled, self-managed machine- and get you out of the delegation catch-22. Download the exercise here to get started!

In this episode of Female Founders Breaking Boundaries, I’m clearing up some common company culture misconceptions and how some of the methods you might be using to foster a positive company culture might be falling short. Some of the things I cover in this episode are:

  • Why we should care about company culture in the first place.
  • The direct and indirect costs associated with replacing an employee.
  • A newsletter isn’t the solution to your company culture problems especially when you are saying and doing two different things.
  • Tools we use at C-Suite Boutique to help our clients foster a company culture that is aligned with their values.
  • What’s on my mind: Sharing the story of my first deer hunting experience on my quest to try things out of my comfort zone.

Company culture is not something you can put a bandaid on. Your employees are intuitive and as soon as they notice you’re saying one thing and doing another, they’re going to start looking for a different role.

Thanks for listening! Be sure to tune in to all the episodes to receive tons of tools, advice, resources, support, and encouragement that resonates with the modern businesswoman and to hear even more about the points outlined above.
